Henry Kidder purchased Waltons (formerly Brooklyn Express) in early 1847 and operated the store with the help of Isaac and George Snedekers. Soon afterwards the Snedeker brother purchased the business from Kidder, all the while issuing the stamp. Later stamps bear the written initials of Isaac Snedeker.
