In 1861 90c was worth a lot more than it is today. There were few occassions where the amount of postage required to mail an item cost as much as 90c. This made used copies of this stamp a rarity. Which has led to multitudes of this stamp being graced with forged cancels. So, if your stamp is used, send it to the APS to have it certified.

The stamp as reprinted in 1875 and is rare. This reprinted stamp is on hard white paper and can be found by clicking here.
