Captain Thomas MacDonough's ship, the corvette USS Saratoga which he
commanded during the naval battle of Plattsburgh during the war of 1812.
Here the Saratoga fires a full 12 gun broadside at the British ship the
HMS Confiance (which ended life as a bunch of walking sticks).
