About the stamp

The perf 10 wheels were introduced into the Bureau in December 1913. At some time, presumably 1914 (probably in December), these compound perf stamps were fed horizontally through the 10 gauge perforator and then, probably in error, fed vertically through the 12 gauge perforator.

At the time of writing there are 55 used stamps recorded. 41 of these have the Dayton, Ohio precancel, two have a Buffalo, New York precancel and the rest have a wavy line cancel

There are no recorded examples of unused stamps.
