An example of a joint line of #599A. The word 'line' in 'joint line' refers to the line down the middle of the perforations in the middle of a pair stamps. This only occurs when two strips of 17 stamps join. They sell for double the value of pairs without this line.

How to Identify a Type II

Type II has several lines in the hair recut and they are more prominent

On the Type II the line on the arabaque is thicker where it meets the outer oval

On the Type II the circles in the corners are thinner in line width
