1868 Overseas Mail. Entire to Patras, Greece 'Voie Marseilles' prepaid by a 6d lilac Pl.6 tied by a London '48' double barred oval. Two strikes of the red oval 'PD' (Paid to Destination) have been applied in error and overstruck by London Chief Office '50' numerals. Greek Hermes heads for 10l, 20l and 80l at lower left tied by Patras cds's for JY.20.1868 (Julian Calendar). London despatch datestamp on reverse for JY.23.1868 (Gregorian Calendar). Mail to Greece could only be pre-paid to the frontier at this time, the stamps indicating a postage due charge of 110l for delivery
